Spectral Images Generation

Hi,

As part of the ACES Virtual Working Group on Gamut Mapping, here is a simple computational Google Colab Notebook about spectral image generation.

Like with the Camera to Observer Mapping exploration thread, the idea is to spectrally generate points in the Camera Sensitivities and Observer volumes and integrate them CIE XYZ Tristimulus Values.

Note that the spheres in the above image are a simple lighting mask multiplier to get something more interesting to look at than simple colour swatches.

I updated the notebook so that is possible to mass-generate images, they are being written to a directory on my Google Drive which is then served via Fast.io: https://academy-vwg-gm-spectral-spheres.imfast.io/ and presents the images with Jeri.

With the recent release of Mitsuba 2, I have started to look at what was ultimately my goal, produce path-traced spectral renders.

First light with the Point Grey Grasshopper 50S5C sensitivities:

Hello,

I made some good progress over the weekend and the Maya scene I made for Cinematic Color 2 is converted to a pure Mitsuba 2 implementation.

Same scene rendered with CIE 1931 2 Degree Standard Observer and Point Grey Grasshopper 50S5C:

The repository is here: https://github.com/colour-science/colour-mitsuba and the plan is to add LED lights this week.
